Well hello there
Jan. 26th, 2011 05:09 pmI have been silent again. Without checking first - I can't even remember if I posted in December.
So, before January is over - a post.
This one might be short in words - and long in photos.
I'm hoping to at least get bullets on the next post. And, with the snow we are getting - may actually be tomorrow. Or, maybe even later tonight (no, don't count on that).
Biggest thing of late - I gathered up a lot of courage and signed up for a Scott Church workshop held in Lancaster this past Sunday. You may have seen posts from another friend - yup, we were both there. Which, helped with the courage thing for me. So, yay!!
Anyhoo - dropping some photos here for your perusal. Pretty much not safe for work or kids. View at your own risk. :)
( NSFW images )
Most of these were not posted on FB due to the obvious nudity. The tamer (boobs covered) shots I posted there. These are all private for friends & family on Flickr - so, if you are not a contact on Flickr you will not be able to click the photo. But, you should be able to see them here.
Loved the workshop. Will definitely be doing another one when Scott offers it. I can't recommend him highly enough. He saw I was shy and made it a point to help me feel included & welcome! He also made me feel like I don't totally suck in the photo department. And, I LOVE his techniques & his work process.

One thing leads to another
Nov. 23rd, 2007 11:12 pmLong story short...
I stumbled on this website for Photo Summit in Chesapeake City in May of 2008.
I REALLY want to go!!
There are other workshops that can be taken outside of that summit weekend. They are also very interesting to me.
Anyone ever been or heard of the Horizon Photography Summit?
Anyway - the lowest price registration is good until March 31...so I have time to decide.

Oct. 12th, 2007 01:08 pmBailey's breeder (Linda) liked the photo I took of Bailey (aka Ansel) so much she put it on the main page of her website!

Gerry just called - he's at the doctor's.
He had severe pain in his back on his way to work and couldn't stand it anymore (after getting to work). So he went straight to the doctor's.
He thinks it might be a kidney stone. The doc can't see him for another 45 minutes.
crapcrapcrap!

Freezer defrosted
Jul. 31st, 2007 11:17 amI opened our upright freezer to discover that it had no power.
Has been without power since yesterday (maybe longer) - power blinked off and back on...can't remember when exactly. Tripped the gfi switch in the basement and we didn't realize.
Pretty much all the food is defrosted (just stocked up on frozen stuff, damnit). It's all still cold - just thawed. There was still ice in the freezer (maybe half defrosted).
Have chicken, Bubba burgers.
So, is it ok to re-freeze and use later (as long as it's all cooked thoroughly)?
I have googled and read both yes and no to this being safe. Quality may suffer - but safety is what I am concerned with.
Anyone know for sure?

Kitten name brainstorming
Jul. 13th, 2007 03:41 pmA list of possibilities from a brainstorming session I had with Gerry, Ron & Shannon.
It was loads of fun - and sometimes turned into a word association session. And got quite silly (we all have somewhat warped minds).
Parent's are:
Mom - Emily
Dad - Lamborghini
Sherbert (Shannon insisted when she saw the red coats on two of them)
Freckle
Mephisto (Ron)
Norbert
Draco
Leaf
Leif
Malfoy
Alex
Autumn
Sabre
Crush
Cinnamon
Floyd
Syd
Barrett
Ember (Gerry)
It's a Norwegian Forest cat (Wegie)
I searched on Norwegian baby names and saw that Leif is included.
So, I just had a thought to call the kitten Leif Barrett (Leif for leaf, Barrett for Syd Barrett of Pink Floyd). The kittens were born on the one year anniversary of Syd Barrett's death.
Willing to hear other suggestions or opinions of the above list. Please do not get offended if I do not use the name you suggest. I took forever to name Kirby - and when I found his name it was meant for him.

Jul. 13th, 2007 01:51 pmYou make me feel like I am home again
Whenever I'm alone with you
You make me feel like I am whole again
Whenever I'm alone with you
You make me feel like I am young again
Whenever I'm alone with you
You make me feel like I am fun again
However far away I will always love you
However long I stay I will always love you
Whatever words I say I will always love you
I will always love you
Whenever I'm alone with you
You make me feel like I am free again
Whenever I'm alone with you
You make me feel like I am clean again
However far away I will always love you

Two days gone
May. 3rd, 2007 10:57 pmSpent yesterday (from 9:30-am) and today with Nor & Ron in Harrisburg.
Went up early yesterday. Got to see Nor's new bike. Thank goodness, this bike is the one she wants to keep. She loves it! It needs some tweaking (tune up) but otherwise it has everything she wants.
( Two days of busy )
Tomorrow - lots of loose ends to tie up before we leave for CA on Saturday.
I think I will make a separate post to help remind me of things I need to do.

Spring, please stay
Mar. 13th, 2007 10:47 pmGorgeous spring-like day. Jealous of all the bikes out on the road. We want to be riding.
Had the slider open. Was on the deck - albeit, just putzing with a new window box I got for cheap at Tuesday Morning...but on the deck nonetheless.
Computer - Dell will probably send a technician out with discs and hard drive to try to get the thing to boot. In the meantime, Gerry and I went out and picked up a 500gb external hard drive - Staples had a Western in stock and they matched the online price. After tax - $190. Thought it was a decent price. I had been wanting something like this so I can archive my photos anyway...so now we have one. Gerry is going to try to copy my files from the hard drive by getting the pc to drop into the C prompt mode.
Finally found a Cat Fancy magazine - remembered that PetSmart sold them.
Went to BJ's - gassed the suvee and got gas for the motorcycle. Checked on Foodsaver accessories. Found a b&w laser printer for my parents - $79. That's all they should need. They print so infrequently that the ink in their ink jet printer dries up. So, this should be a good choice for them. Just double checked to make sure it's compatible with WinVista (hatehatehate) - which it seems to be (there are drivers for Vista). So, off to complete the online rebate.
Dinner at Friday's - Entertainment coupon for a free dinner (bogo). Also had onion rings for an appetizer (not on the menu but they will make them for you if you ask). Yummy!
FMI (for my info):
Researching lights for our deck (finally), still need a pen holder for the fridge to go with the shopping lists, want to look into a new silverware organizer (2-tier), pull-out drawers for the island, and a deep fryer (anyone have suggestions on a decent medium to high end deep fryer?), more FoodSaver containers at Tuesday Morning, mounting solution for the new window box.

Lime Project Calendars...have arrived
Jan. 10th, 2007 04:37 pmFrom
bronxelf_ag001:
They're here. They just arrived not 3 minutes ago. I will be shipping them out of here as fast as I can to the 12 (so far) countries that they need to get to. Please be patient. If you ordered via paypal, you will get a note from me when they've shipped. If you didn't, you can email me and ask. Either way, they're here now, and to you shortly!
There are still approximately 130 calendars as of last night that still need homes outside of my living room. So if you haven't ordered because you were waiting for them to arrive, now is the time to get one now. Once we go under 100, I will post a daily count of how many remain. Count down with us as we sell out of calendars! Woo. They're here. Thank goodness.

Lime Project - Nakedness to fight Cancer
Nov. 3rd, 2006 11:19 pmSome of you may know
yourhermione (Heather). She is currently fighting Hodgkin's disease - also known as Hodgkin's lymphoma. Copied fomr the Lime Project site - "Unfortunately, she has no prescription coverage on her medical insurance, and because she is working, she doesn't qualify for government aid. The medications that will keep her alive physically are going to kill her financially, and even if she survives the cancer, she may not survive the debt."
bronxelf_ag001 is heading up a fundraiser to help defray her medical bills. Basically, it is a calendar of gorgeous, real-life women in varying degrees of tasteful nudity. It has quietly been in the works since earlier this year. Heather is now aware of this outpouring of support!
The website is up (though, not yet complete) - but enough so that I thought it a good time to get the word out to my friend's list - as I actually got to play a part. I took the photos of
ladylyonesse (Liz) - who happens to be the fabulous Ms. February! Avril (Bronxelf) did the editing to all the photos I took (and did a fabulous job)!
So - plan your 2007 dates on a wonderful calendar full of hot, scantily clad women. Get several and give as gifts this holiday season!
Ordering is not currently active - but book mark this site so you can order as soon as you are able. DO NOT ORDER YET! Site is still being tested - my post is jumping the gun a bit.
Going to make this public so it reaches more people!
